Front is a support platform with shared inboxes, ticketing and omnichannel routing, priced at $25, $65 and $105 per seat per month on annual billing. If you need that whole platform, the closest alternatives are Missive, Help Scout and Hiver. If what you actually wanted was a shared inbox for a small team, or AI that handles your own mail, Slashy or Superhuman cost less and do more of that job.

Front is a good product, and this page treats it that way. Every claim about it links to a Front page with the date we read it. The most useful thing this page can do is separate two questions people arrive with: "we outgrew Front's price" and "we never needed a support platform in the first place." The right alternative is different for each.
Why look for a Front alternative?
Two reasons come up on our calls. The first is the seat math. On Front's pricing page (checked September 21, 2026), Starter is $25 per seat per month for up to 10 seats, Professional is $65 for up to 50 seats, and Enterprise is $105, all shown billed annually with a stated 24% saving over monthly. AI Copilot, Smart QA and Smart CSAT are add-ons on Starter and Professional and only included on Enterprise. A ten-person team that wants omnichannel and AI help is looking at Professional plus add-ons, not the $25 headline.
The second is fit. On a May 2026 call, a prospect was deciding whether their sales team should join the rest of the company in Front, and the sticking point was that sales people do not want a ticket queue; they want their own inbox to answer faster. Front is built for a team working one shared queue. Plenty of teams adopt it for "shared inbox" and end up paying for ticketing, SLAs and routing they never turn on.
Front's strengths are real: omnichannel on Professional (email, SMS, social, WhatsApp), macros, up to 20 automation rules on Professional and unlimited on Enterprise, a knowledge base, and a large installed base that the pricing page puts at 9,300+ companies. If you run a support operation, the alternatives below are the honest like-for-like options. If you do not, skip to the last two rows of the table.
What are the best alternatives to Front?
Prices were read from each vendor's own pricing page in a browser on September 21, 2026 (Slashy and Superhuman on September 16), with monthly and annual billing listed separately where the vendor shows both.
| Tool | What it is | Email providers | Price per user per month | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Missive | Team inbox with chat, tasks and rules; the closest Front-shaped product at a lower price | Gmail, Office 365, IMAP, SMS, social | Starter $14, Productive $24, Business $36, billed yearly; 30-day trial, no card | Small teams that want Front's collaboration without ticketing |
| Help Scout | Support platform with inboxes, live chat, knowledge base and AI drafts | Email plus chat, SMS, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger | Standard $30 monthly or $25 annually; Plus $54 or $45; Pro $90 or $75 | Support teams that want a customer portal and SLAs |
| Hiver Omni | Shared inbox and ticketing with AI agents included on every plan | Omnichannel; a separate "Hiver in Gmail" product also exists | Growth $35 monthly or $25 annually; Pro $65 or $55; Elite $95 or $85 | Support teams that want AI agents on the base plan |
| Slashy | AI-native email client with shared inboxes, comments and mentions, team read receipts and a calendar sidebar | Gmail, Google Workspace | $30 monthly, or $25 billed annually | Founder and operator teams whose "shared inbox" is really their own mail |
| Superhuman | Speed-focused client with team collaboration on every plan | Gmail, Outlook | Starter $30 monthly or $25 annually; Business $40 or $33 | Individuals and small teams on Outlook who want speed, not tickets |

Which Front alternative is the closest like-for-like?
Missive. Its pricing page lists team inboxes, personal inboxes, assignment, internal threads, collaborative drafting, internal read statuses, up to 1,000 rules on Productive and Business, HubSpot and ClickUp integrations, and API and MCP access, with SOC 2 Type II on every plan and a 30-day trial that needs no card. Starter is capped at 5 users and Productive at 50, which mirrors Front's seat caps at a fraction of the price. What Missive does not have is Front's ticketing depth, SLAs and QA tooling; if those are why you bought Front, Help Scout and Hiver are the closer matches.
Help Scout puts multiple inboxes, live chat, SMS, WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger, knowledge bases and an AI inbox assistant on its $25 annual Standard plan, with unlimited AI drafts, round robin routing and Salesforce, Jira and HubSpot integrations on Plus. Hiver Omni includes AI agents, AI Copilot, shared inbox and ticketing and omnichannel on its $25 annual Growth plan, with a customer portal, SLAs and CSAT on Pro. Both are support platforms first, the same category as Front.
Slashy prepares replies, remembers open loops, and keeps customer, investor, candidate, and team conversations on track.
What if the real problem was your own inbox, not a support queue?
This is the case for a lot of teams under twenty people. The founder, the sales lead and the account manager each get 100+ emails a day, they want to see who replied to what, and they want drafts written for them. A ticketing system does not fix that; it adds a queue on top.
Slashy is built for that version of a team. Shared inboxes, comments and mentions, team read receipts and a calendar sidebar with a multi-person view all sit on the one $25 to $30 plan, and the AI triages every message into labels, drafts replies in each person's own voice from a memory that learns continuously, and tracks follow-ups with open and device detection. On Slashy's own usage data, the share of AI drafts a new user sends without editing starts near 30% on day one and passes 80% by day 30.
"Slashy automated the most annoying parts of customer support."
Tan Cao, Founder of Peerpop
What Slashy does not have: ticketing, SLAs, a customer portal, omnichannel routing, or Outlook support. If your team answers customers from a shared support@ address at volume with response-time targets, choose Front, Help Scout or Hiver. Superhuman is the other non-platform option: team collaboration is listed on all of its plans, it supports Gmail and Outlook, and its advanced AI sits on the Business tier at $40 monthly or $33 annually.
Which alternative works with Outlook?
Front connects Gmail and Office 365 mailboxes. Among the alternatives, Missive supports Gmail, Office 365 and IMAP, Help Scout and Hiver Omni connect email accounts from either provider, and Superhuman is a full client for Gmail and Outlook. Slashy is Gmail and Google Workspace only, so it is not an option for a Microsoft 365 company today.

- You need Front's collaboration but not its price or ticketing: Missive.
- You run a real support operation with SLAs and a customer portal: Help Scout or Hiver Omni, or stay on Front.

- Your "shared inbox" is really three people's own mail plus a hello@ address, on Google Workspace: Slashy.
- You are on Outlook and want a fast personal client with team sharing: Superhuman.
- You want to run email from iMessage, Slack or your own AI agent: Slashy, which includes an MCP server and messaging control.
